SOCIAL MEDIA AND EVENTS CURATOR

We are looking for a local enthusiast that is passionate about growing the local scene in Abilene and the surrounding area and who is interested in contributing to our efforts to showcase it. You can be a talented individual looking for a creative outlet and way to build your portfolio or an independent freelancer or businesses owner looking to gain exposure for your work. We will credit all your work in direct correlation to our mission which is to promote local talent in our area. You will have a formal introduction on our intern page and be mentioned, tagged, and linked to each publication. This is not a paid position.

SKILLS

  • Digital photography portfolio or Instagram account

  • Must have own digital camera

  • Knowledge and experience in Google Docs and shared folders

  • Strong understanding of branding and visual composition

  • Experienced in Social Media platforms

  • Access to and experience with photo editing software such as Photoshop or other apps.

  • Preferably have experience in InDesign and print layout

  • Ability to coordinate, conduct, and deliver written interviews in question/answer form

  • Good communication and people skills to conduct interviews

  • Ability to write basic press releases for special events and other promotional or PR stories for local media

  • Must be open to constructive criticism and a collaborative process to achieve the best presentation for the APPP brand and representation of your work

DESCRIPTION

  • THE BASICS - Be available for at least one meeting a month to cover monthly goals and events. Be prompt to all correspondence. Be open to constructive criticism and a collaborative process to achieve the best presentation for the APPP brand and representation of your work. We understand and support your primary commitments and priorities whether you are a student, employee, or have a family, however, we expect dependability and up front communication about your schedule, availability, or any conflicts that may arise.

  • THE APPP BLOG - One blog entry per month with the exception of an occasional second entry for larger APPP events we want to promote through our blog. Our blogs feature local business owners, organizations, artists, or musicians. This is a place where we get to go behind the scenes with our local creatives and entrepreneurs to share their story. Please visit our blog to see our interview style. We will provide you with assignment options and contact info for each blog entry, however, we would love to hear leads for any good interviews. We will provide you with purpose and direction for each interview, however, we want your voice and personal language to be used to deliver the interview adding any questions or comments that naturally come about through your conversation. You will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling the interview, delivering a complete interview in written question/answer form, and produce 8-10 edited photo images for the blog entry. It's possible you will have admin rights on our social media platforms to publish a post and tag all participants when we launch the blog. It's possible you will be responsible for uploading and editing the blog on our website as a draft before it's final publication, otherwise you will submit your work to info@apeoplepartyproductions.com. The deadline is always dependent on everyone's availability. The goal is to have one blog entry per month. All work must be spell checked and about a 3-5 minute read.

  • PRESS RELEASE WORK - Produce any short press releases for any local media we may need for upcoming events, special highlights, or any other inquires by the media.

  • EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY - APPP has several different options when it comes to event photography. This is something we'd love to have in-house, however, we also work out trades with photographers in exchange for our marketing and credibility on all the countless platforms and times we'll use their photos to promote our brand and our events, including magazines publications, social media, our website or other marketing platforms. Occasionally we can offer compensate for event photography depending our budget per each event. We have been featured in Hispanic Life, The Optimist, Abilene Scene Magazine, soon to be Texas Living, and endorsed by Texas Monthly online.

  • SOCIAL MEDIA IMAGES - It's possible you may be sent on an occasional field trip to shoot images of other local events, locations, or products we want to talk about on our platform. You can also submit any photos you think would be a good share for our local promotions brand. All social media posts must be approved under all circumstances and will most likely be administered by Jen. Photos can be submitted via text, google shared photos, or emailed to info@apeoplepartyproductions.com.

MARKETING ASSISTANT

We are looking for a local enthusiast that is passionate about growing the local scene in Abilene and the surrounding area and who is interested in contributing to our efforts to showcase it through working with us to create marketing strategies and content, networking with local businesses, and growing our sponsorship reach. You will have a formal introduction on our intern page. This is not a paid position but may include a percentage from each new sponsor gained.
